computer air duster
my husband used air duster on our computer, plug everything back in, push button to turn on… nothing , dead?

no lights, no sound just dead

Ok, If the power supply fans ( in back of computer ) do not do anything This is what I would do :

1. Plug something else ( lamp, etc.) in to the wall plug to make sure it works (no breakers tripped or fuses blown).

Your actually trying to find where the electricty stops….

If the plug works -

2. Plug the surge protector / power strip into wall and see if light on it comes on ( there may be a reset button on the power strip -press it to make sure it is not tripped).

If the power strip is ok -

3. make sure the power cord is pushed all the way in in the back of the computer.

If it is -

4.make sure the switch on the back of the computer is set to “on”
there is probably a “o” and “I” on the switch , flip it to the “I”.

If it is on “I”

5. make sure the voltage switch on the back of the power supply is set correctly , it should be set on 115v.

If all the above is checked and the power supply will still not start at all then either :

The power switch on the front of the computer is not connected to the motherboard correctly.

The power supply is bad.

The Motherboard is bad.

If your hubby didn’t open the computer and just air dusted the outside then it’s probably just a loose connection on the back of the computer .

If he did open it up and disconnected wires from the motherboard he may not have connected them back correctly or just a loose connection inside the computer.

Hope this helps….
