Can I use VOIP if my computer crashes?
I am looking at replacing my home phone with VOIP and am unsure of a few things…firstly, my computer is a little unreliable and could die any time soon. Would I still be able to use VOIP? Secondly, what is the quality of calls like (I am in Australia, and never phone overseas, so its only for national calls). And thirdly, any recommendations for VOIP providers in Australia? Also, can you use multiple phone handsets around the house or do they have to be connected to the computer? Any info would help thanks!
You get a VOIP box that plugges into the phone line just like the modem does, it doesn’t rely on the computer to be working in order to use it, as long as the connection from the VOIP box and the phone socket in your wall is ok then your phone should still be good to use.
